6th District Councilman Dee Andrews, along with Pacific Gateway Workforce, is hosting a Construction Apprenticeship Information Session to educate interested individuals on how they can join a union and obtain jobs and apprenticeships in the field of local construction.
The free information session will inform attendees about current and upcoming construction projects across Los Angeles County with a special emphasis on those currently underway at the Port of Long Beach, including the Middle Harbor Redevelopment Project and the Gerald Desmond Bridge replacement.
“I am excited to be able to reach out to talented applicants in Long Beach to assist them in understanding the apprenticeship opportunities that the Port of Long Beach projects and others will offer,” Andrews said. “In order to be a part of these construction jobs you must be in unions. Therefore, I’m trying to help individuals do whatever it takes to move to the next level of employment.”
The Construction Apprenticeship Workshop will be held Friday, August 23, from 8:30AM to 10:30AM, at Martin Luther King, Jr. Park, Social Hall, 1950 Lemon Avenue, Long Beach. For more information call the office of Councilman Dee Andrews, at (562) 570-6816. This is a free event.
