A woman crashed her vehicle into a residential garage in South Wrigley this afternoon, striking a fence and tree before colliding into the garage, authorities said.

Long Beach police spokesperson Allison Gallagher said the crash happened at about 3:41 p.m. at a home on the corner of Oregon Avenue and Burnett Street.

A neighbor who did not give her name said she didn’t see the crash but heard it from inside her home.

“It sounded horrible, an awful crunch,”  she said.

The Long Beach Fire Department transported the driver to a local hospital for minor injuries, police said. There were no other injuries.

Police did not say whether any drugs, alcohol or distracted driving were factors in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
