A car that caught fire charred a few garages in the Rose Park neighborhood Monday morning, according to authorities.

The blaze sparked a few minutes before 8 a.m. on Ohio Avenue near 10th Street, Long Beach Fire Department spokesman Jake Heflin said.

Firefighters doused the car and forced their way into three nearby garages where the flames had spread, according to Heflin. Nobody was hurt in the blaze, and crews kept the fire from reaching any nearby homes, he said.

Fire investigators were still trying to determine what caused the blaze, and crews were boarding up the garages Monday morning, Heflin said.
