A small brush fire was extinguished Wednesday afternoon near the El Dorado Nature Center, though the causes of the fire are still unknown. Long Beach Firefighter Will Nash said the blaze began at around 4:30PM along the roadside on the north side of Willow Ave. between the 605 Freeway and Coyote Creek.
“A total of 6 engines and 1 Battalion Chief were able to keep the fire from entering the Nature Area,” Nash said.
Fire engines from both Long Beach and Orange County–the location of the fire borders on the City of Los Alamitos–responded to extinguish the fire, which burned about fifty square feet before being doused.
No additional information is available at this time.
