In the latest installment of its National Leaders Luncheon Series, the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce will host United States Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne this Friday at 11:00am at the Hilton Long Beach.

Kemothorne has served as Secretary of the Interior since being voted in by the Senate in 2006, after two terms as the governor of Idaho, and is in charge of managing the National Parks Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, as well as setting resource policies like the Water Reclamation Project and the Water 2025 Initiative.

“The Chamber is honored to host the Secretary whose policy impacts our daily life – from our water supply to the national parks we visit,” stated Randy Gordon, President/CEO of The Chamber, in a released statement. “At a time when Governor Schwarzenegger has declared drought in California, the Secretary’s discussion of Water Reclamation program and the Water 2025 Initiative will carry even more importance.”
