As Memorial Day approaches, it should be noted that not all of the City of Long Beach’s offices and services will be open and available.
All public libraries will be closed beginning tomorrow, May 24, and will re-open on Tuesday, May 27. The digital portal to the library, as always, is available 24/7.
Street sweeping will not be conducted on Memorial Day; it will resume its normal schedule on Tuesday, May 27.
Trash and Recycling will be collected as scheduled on Memorial Day.
Parking meters that state “Except on Holidays” will not be enforced on Memorial Day.
City of Long Beach offices and services will adhere to the following schedule on Monday, May 26; City Hall re-opens on Tuesday, May 27.

- Health Department and Health facilities
- Libraries
- Marina offices
- Neighborhood Resource Center
- Park offices, swimming pools, Rancho Los Cerritos, El Dorado Nature Center, & community park facilities
- Police administration
- Street sweeping
- Water Department (Emergencies: 570-2390)
Open on Monday, May 26:

- Main Police Station Front Desk
- Refuse and recycling collection
