1:58pm | January brings the annual Peace Week of activities that includes several community groups leading great events that culminate with the Martin Luther King Jr. Parade. To start off Peace Week, 6th District Councilmember Dee Andrews is inviting the community to Peace Fest on Saturday, January 8 at 1133 Rhea Street.

6th District Councilman Dee Andrews Invites Residents to Peace Fest
As a part of the City of Long Beach Peace Week activities, Councilman Dee Andrews, along with the Peace Week Committee, City of Long Beach DHHS Weed and Seed Program, Central Neighborhood Advisory Committee, South Wrigley Neighborhood Advisory Group and the Peace Garden Committee, will host Peace Fest, 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Saturday, January 8th, at the Peace Garden, at the DHHS Central Facilities, 1133 Rhea Street, Long Beach, CA
Peace Fest is a free community event honoring global peace makers. The event will feature a presentation that focuses on the teachings of our worlds greatest peace advocates like Martin Luther King, Jr., Mahatma Gandhi, and Daisaku Ikeda. It is a day of celebration and networking with local and national organizations working to improve our community through peace. There will be musical entertainment and an array of vendors that includes arts & crafts and local organizations.
Peace Fest will mark the one-year anniversary of the Peace Garden, which was created by Councilman Andrews and manifested by the hard work of the 6th District community that includes City of Long Beach DHHS Weed and Seed Program, Central Neighborhood Advisory Committee, South Wrigley Neighborhood Advisory Group and the Peace Garden Committee.
