11:50am | Congresswoman Linda Sánchez will hold a housing summit on Thursday in Lakewood, bringing together housing industry experts and local officials to address the current foreclosure crisis.

The panel of housing experts will discuss the state of California’s housing market and offer their projections. The panel includes: Ray Brewer, field director of Housing and Urban Development for Los Angeles; Richard K. Green, director of the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate, as well as local city and housing industry experts and associations.

Most recently, Sanchez joined California’s Democratic Delegation in asking President Obama to urge the Federal Housing Finance Agency to allow Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac owned mortgages to be refinanced if homeowners meet basic guidelines.

The summit rums from 9:00am to noon at Lakewood City Council Chambers, 5050 Clark Ave.
