Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who left a convenience store owner in critical condition Monday night. According to the Long Beach Police Department, the man was shot in the torso by a robber who made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The incident occurred at around 7:50PM when a man entered the Cerritos Mini Market in the 1100 block of E. 7th St. and fired at the clerk. Because of the victim’s condition, homicide detectives responded to the scene and worked into the night gathering evidence.

The suspect fled the scene after the shooting and remains outstanding. No description of the suspect is available, but police say they planned to release one soon.
