The Long Beach City Council last night unanimously approved the Port of Long Beach’s proposed Middle Harbor expansion project, which is expected to create more than 14,000 permanent jobs during the course of its ten-year construction.  It will also drastically increase cargo handling capacity, replace outdated equipment and cut harmful emissions in half (once fully-operational).
