1:34pm | Sixth District Councilman Dee Andrews and Mr. Baker’s Style Center will be hosting their third annual Back To School Free Haircuts For Youth, for youths K – 8th grade, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, on Sunday, September 4th, at Mr. Baker’s Style Center, 1008 E. Pacific Coast Hwy.
This is the third year that Councilman Dee Andrews is teaming up with Mr. Baker’s Style Center to offer free back-to-school haircuts. Mr. Baker’s Style Center is donating a no-cost haircut for youth ages 5 to 13 years old.
“Parents are hit with many back to school expenses such as school supplies, clothing and activity fees. This year is especially hard with the economy still struggling to recover”, said Councilman Dee Andrews. “We’re happy that our partnership with the Mr. Baker’s Style Center offers an excellent opportunity for families who may not be able to afford back-to-school haircuts for their children.”
“Students want to start the new school year looking their best and we want to do our part to encourage our youth with added confidence,” stated Mike Baker, owner of Baker’s Style Center, “This is why I decided to participate in this event. We are not just giving back to the parents in our community but helping area youth go back to school feeling more confident with a new hair cut.”
