suziepriceCouncilwoman Suzie Price has invited the public to a Pop-Up Council and Eliot Crosswalk Awareness event at the Farmer’s Market at Marine Stadium on Wednesday. At 5:00PM, Price will help educate any parents and youth in attendance on how to safely utilize the two new crosswalks on Eliot St. between Marine Stadium and Marina Vista Park.

“One of my first priorities when I took office was to improve the safety of our children walking to and from school,” Councilwoman Price said in a statement. “In particular crossing between Marina Vista Park and Marine Stadium is challenging to say the least, especially during weekly Marine Stadium Farmers’ Markets and our summer band concert series.”

Councilwoman Price partnered with the City’s Traffic Engineer to design the crosswalks that were installed in early April. Preceded by bright white rumble strips comprised of a grid of ceramic road reflectors, the two crosswalks are a welcome addition to the area high in foot traffic due to park and stadium goers, many of whom are entire families.
