A 13-year-old girl has been reunited with a family member after law enforcement officials arrested the man accused of trafficking her in the Los Angeles area, police announced Thursday.
Detectives first learned about the girl on Sept. 24 and arranged to meet her in Long Beach, police said. They arrested 23-year-old Tyler Rosbor, from Browns Summit, North Carolina on suspicion of human trafficking of a minor and pimping in relation to a woman the same day.
They believe Rosbor arrived in California earlier in the month and soon after began pimping a woman who introduced him to the girl.
“Detectives learned the juvenile victim had previously been forced to perform prostitution acts for two initial traffickers in Merced County,” police said, adding that it’s being investigated by that district attorney’s office.
The girl is being provided victim-centered services through the Los Angeles County First Responder Protocol for Sexually Exploited Children, police said.
Rosbor is being held on a $175,000 bail and is expected to be arraigned Friday.
