Sixteen people were arrested in a pre-holidays operation conducted by the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) earlier this week.

The Long Beach Police North Division Directed Enforcement Team, along with the California State Parole Fugitive Apprehension Team, focused their efforts on reducing crime this holiday season on Wednesday.

As a result of the operation, there were 10 felony arrests, five misdemeanor arrests, one juvenile arrest, one misdemeanor citation issued, one gun recovered and one stolen vehicle recovered.

“Several were arrested for parole violations, one had outstanding warrants for burglary and auto theft, one had three felony warrants for burglary, one was in violation of a gang injunction, one was in possession of Methamphetamine while on probation, one was arrested in possession of a stolen vehicle, and one possessed a handgun,” the LBPD said in a statement.

One man was arrested for felony forgery, the LBPD said, adding that officers worked off of a tip from the public to locate the suspect, who was in possession of multiple forged money orders and checks with face values worth at least $1,000.
