Long Beach police say they are looking for a gunman who fired a shot into the air during a “physical altercation” last night on Second Street.

According to police, the situation escalated around 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the 5200 block of E Second Street, which is in the middle of Belmont Shore’s popular stretch of restaurants and bars.

“The preliminary information suggests a physical altercation occurred among a group of male subjects, during which one male suspect fired a shot into the air,” police said.

Nobody was wounded, and everyone involved fled before officers arrived, according to the LBPD.

No suspect information was available. Police said they’re still investigating.
