A parolee was sentenced Friday to 525 years in prison for more than a dozen armed robberies including a string of stickups at businesses in Long Beach, according to authorities.

Adam Randolph Powell, 33, was convicted May 4 of committing 15 robberies in Los Angeles County, according to prosecutors.

At least eight of those stickups were at Long Beach businesses between Dec. 21, 2016 and March 12, 2017, police said at the time of his arrest.

In each of those cases, Powell would walk into the businesses and demand cash before fleeing without hurting anyone, police said.

Detectives tracked down Powell after noticing similarities in the string of robberies and piecing together a description of the getaway car, which led them to Powell, according to police.

Detectives searched his Los Alamitos home, towed his car and arrested him in March last year, police said.

Powell was on parole for a previous robbery conviction when he was arrested, police said.

This case was Powell’s third strike, according to Ricardo Santiago, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.
