Police say a 65-year-old Long Beach man died after he was struck by a car while crossing the street on Wednesday evening.
The crash happened at about 7:35 p.m. on Anaheim Street near Redondo Avenue, according to Long Beach police.
They say the man was crossing northbound on Redondo Avenue outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a 2011 Toyota Camry heading westbound on Anaheim Street.
The man was taken to a hospital where he died a day later, police said. He was identified as 65-year-old Daren Duane Roland, of Long Beach.
The Toyota driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, who did not believe speed, distracted driver nor impaired driving were factors in the crash, police said.
