Two men were shot at while riding dirt bikes in an industrial area of Long Beach Saturday night, nearly two hours after police found a bullet on an apartment building in a separate shooting.

The first shooting was reported at 8:20 p.m. near Indiana Avenue and East 67th Street, bordering the south side of the 91 Freeway in North Long Beach.

When officers arrived, they canvassed the area and found a bullet and a possible strike mark on an apartment building in the alley near the 3400 block of East 67th Street, said police spokeswoman Shaunna Dandoy.

“Officers conducted safety checks in the area and no victims have come forward and no injuries have been reported at this time,” Dandoy said.

Police responded to the second report of a shooting at about 10 p.m. near Anaheim Street and DeForest Avenue, adjacent to the Los Angeles River in the Willmore neighborhood.

“Prior to arrival, officers were contacted by a male adult victim who stated he was with another male adult riding dirt bikes in the area when they were shot at by an unknown suspect,” Dandoy said.

When officers canvassed the area they found casings nearby in the 900 block of West Anaheim Street.

No one was injured.

No suspect or motive information is available for either shooting at this time.
