A man was stabbed near a Long Beach elementary school late Saturday night, according to authorities.

The victim was already at a local hospital being treated when police responded to the possible stabbing report at 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, according to police spokeswoman Shaunna Dandoy.

The man sustained a minor cut to his upper torso, authorities said.

“The victim told officers the incident occurred in the area of Atlantic Avenue and Hill Street but did not provide additional information,” Dandoy said.

Assisting officers canvassed Atlantic Avenue and Hill Street, near Bobbie Smith Elementary School, but did not find a crime scene.

Authorities do not have a suspect or know the motive for the stabbing at this time.
