An unoccupied car was hit with gunfire early Saturday in the Poly neighborhood, but authorities did not locate any victims.

Police officers responded to a shots fired call at about 3:20 a.m. Saturday on the 1900 block of Martin Luther King Avenue and talked to a man whose parked, unoccupied car had been damaged by gunfire, police spokeswoman Shaunna Dandoy said. The officers found bullet casings at the scene.

“Preliminary investigation revealed the calling party heard a verbal dispute that lead to gunfire,” Dandoy said.

Police do not have information on the person who fired the shots, but the investigation is ongoing, she said.
