Body washes up on beach near Bluff Park

Long Beach police were called to the beach near Coronado Avenue and Ocean Boulevard after getting a report of a body that washed ashore Friday afternoon, officials said.

Police do not yet have a description of the deceased person, only describing him as a man. He was found near the water line at about 2:10 p.m., police spokeswoman Jennifer De Prez said.

Coroners officials will be working to identify him and determine the cause of death, but police do not suspect foul play, she said.
