Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who fled after running into a 15-year-old girl outside Cabrillo High School Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The vehicle was moving at a low speed when it hit the girl, but she complained of some pain to her legs and her mother decided to take her to the hospital, Long Beach police spokesman Ben Hearst said.

The driver kept going after the crash, which happened around 7:30 a.m. on Santa Fe Avenue near 20th Street, according to Hearst.

There wasn’t any description of the car or driver immediately available. Police are still investigating.
