A dangerous pursuit weaved through parts of Long Beach Wednesday night as the CHP was chasing a pair of carjacking suspects.
Authorities started pursuing the vehicle after a carjacking in Lynwood around 8:45 p.m., according to CBS News Los Angeles.
At times, helicopter footage showed the driver hit speeds over 100 mph, and the passenger repeatedly hung out of the window, either making gestures or sitting on the window frame as if he was posing for a phone he was holding.
The car headed down the 710 Freeway through Long Beach and then back up the freeway, occasionally getting off for short stretches, including at Del Amo Boulevard and Long Beach Boulevard.
The car then appeared to have tire trouble, and the driver pulled over at a freeway embankment where the two suspects tried to flee into the brush but were captured by CHP officers.
