Authorities today identified a woman found dead Sunday in an SUV in West Long Beach.

Guadalupe Ruiz was 34 years old and homeless, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office. Police are investigating her death as an apparent murder although no information on a suspect or a motive was immediately available.

Police said they found Ruiz dead in an SUV in an industrial area of West Long Beach around 7:20 a.m. Sunday after being called to the 1300 block of West 16th Street to assist the Long Beach Fire Department with a gunshot victim.

Police said Ruiz was seated inside the front area of the vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
