Police investigating fatal shooting at bar in Westside neighborhood

A customer shot and killed an employee at a bar called the Crow’s Nest in West Long Beach late Sunday, police said.

The Long Beach Police Department in a statement Monday said officers responded around 10:15 p.m. to reports of a shooting at the business at 1912 W. Willow St.

The victim, an employee at the business, suffered multiple gunshots and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said. His identity was not released Monday pending notification of next-of-kin.

Detectives said a bar patron had been arguing with the victim when he pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots. The suspect was last seen leaving the business and running in an unknown direction.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact homicide detectives Don Collier or Leticia Gamboa at 562-570-7244. Anonymous tips may be submitted through Crime Stoppers by calling 800-222-TIPS, downloading the “P3 Tips” app or by visiting www.lacrimestoppers.org.
