Long Beach police are investigating a woman for possibly driving under the influence after she crashed into two men on Del Amo Boulevard at about 12:40 p.m. Tuesday, officials said.

The men were outside their cars disconnecting towing equipment on westbound Del Amo near Locust Avenue when the woman, driving a Dodge Caravan, crashed into them and their cars, police said. Paramedics transported the men to a local hospital where one was in stable condition and one was in critical condition, Officer Ivan Garcia said.

The woman initially fled the scene in her van before police got there, but officers found and detained her, Garcia said.

It’s unclear why the men were outside their cars or if other vehicles were involved in the crash. Police closed off Westbound Del Amo at Locust while they investigated.
