Police officers followed a car full of attempted burglary suspects from Montebello to North Long Beach for nearly 20 minutes early Saturday morning, authorities said.

“It was a pursuit of a vehicle they believed was involved in an attempted burglary of a business in Montebello,” said Lt. I. Navarro from Montebello Police Department.

The pursuit began at around 3:30 a.m and ended 18 minutes later in Long Beach near East 55th Street and Elm Avenue, when the driver collided with a parked vehicle and then fled the car, Navarro said.

The five occupants of the car fled on foot and officers were able to arrest the female driver. She is booked in the Montebello city jail on the charges of attempted burglary and evading police.
