34959 142432402434904 7730285 nGlee actor Mark Salling was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of possessing child pornography by officers assigned to a Long Beach-based task force that looks into these types of crimes.

Salling, 33, was arrested at his Sunland home on the 990 block of Helen Avenue at 9:00AM by officers assigned to the L.A. Regional Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, according to Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officer Jenny Houser.

“His arrest did not come about as part of an online sting,” said (LAPD) Lt. Andrea Grossman said. “Salling’s arrest came about through a tip from a confidential informant.”

“Electronic media” was confiscated during the actor’s arrest, though details of what was seized were not given. “Detectives served a search warrant at his home and then placed him under arrest for possession of child pornography,” Houser said.

According to sheriff’s online inmate records, Salling was released at 2:26PM after posting $20,000 bail. He’s due in court in downtown Los Angeles on January 22, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

The L.A. Regional Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is one of 61 such federal task forces across the country. It covers Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino counties and includes 69 law enforcement agencies, Grossman said.

Salling’s publicist did not return a call for comment on her client’s arrest, which was first reported by the TV show Crime Watch Daily.

According to his Internet profile, the Dallas-born Salling is also a singer/songwriter. His other credits included the 2014 TV movie Rocky Road, a 2006 film, The Graveyard, and the 1996 film, Children of the Corn IV: The Gathering.
