Police say they’re investigating after a woman was shot at by a male suspect who seemingly followed her from Compton to Long Beach.
The woman was in the city of Compton early Friday morning when an unknown male approached her and pointed a gun at her, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Though she managed to get away in her vehicle and drive to Long Beach’s Washington neighborhood, the woman again saw the same suspect while near the 1600 block of San Francisco Avenue, police said.
That’s when the male suspect fired his weapon in her direction, striking her car, police said.
The woman wasn’t injured and again managed to flee the scene before calling officers, who subsequently responded around 4:44 a.m. to the area of Long Beach Boulevard and 15th Street, according to authorities.
Officers found ballistic evidence, including strike marks in the 1600 block of San Francisco Avenue, according to police, but no suspect. A motive for the shooting remains unknown, police said.
