A man in his 30s was found dead with a single gunshot wound inside a car in Long Beach early Friday morning, authorities said.
Police initially responded to a call of a possible traffic accident at 12:40AM today with reports of a small white car that was stopped on the greenery of the onramp to the Long Beach (710) Freeway from westbound Anaheim Street, according to Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokesman Sgt. Brad Johnson.
When officers arrived they found the victim dead and with what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to his upper torso.
The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Glen Chico of Long Beach.
The vehicle appeared to have driven off the roadway into ivy at slow speeds, Johnson said.
Authorities do not know where exactly the shooting occurred but homicide detectives are investigating the incident.
