Long Beach police are investigating a shooting that occurred near Long Beach Boulevard and 20th Street Thursday afternoon and left a man with a gunshot wound, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Nancy Pratt said.

Officials said a man walked into a local hospital emergency room with a non-life threatening gunshot wound at 2:47PM.

Police responded to the hospital and the area where the victim said the shooting had happened to search for evidence and witnesses, Pratt said.

The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.
