Long Beach police responded to a hit and run on Seventh Street at Bellflower Boulevard Sunday night.

Police received the call at about 8:42 p.m. Sunday. The driver of an older-model black hatchback, according to a witness account, reportedly struck the cyclist, who appeared to be homeless, before driving away, said LBPD Lt. Megan Zabel.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition, she said.
