Police said they’re looking for a driver who fled from the scene of a crash that killed a 90-year-old man in West Long Beach.

The man was crossing Willow Street in an unmarked crosswalk at La Vere Drive when a pick-up truck hit him around 9:25 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, according to the LBPD.

“The driver of the truck failed to remain on scene and fled without providing any information,” police said.

When officers got there, the man was lying in the roadway. Medics tried to help him and took him to a hospital, where he died, police said.

Police said the driver was in a white Toyota Tacoma that was headed west on Willow Street.

They asked anyone with information about the crime to contact Detective Shawn Loughlin at 562-570-7355.
