Police say SWAT officers arrested four men who broke into a home and held two people hostage in North Long Beach early Monday morning.

Officers were notified of the crime just after 2 a.m. in the 300 block of Ellis Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department. The person who called police said the burglars were armed and holding two people hostage inside a home, authorities said.

The LBPD sent a SWAT team, which convinced the suspects to surrender, according to police. The suspects weren’t immediately identified, but police say they are in the process of being booked into jail. Officers also recovered firearms at the scene, police added.

The two people held hostage did not suffer any injuries, police said.

The investigation is ongoing, according to the LBPD.
