Husband and wife dead in Cerritos murder-suicide, LASD says

Authorities today said it was a murder-suicide that left a man and his wife dead in a home in Cerritos.

The deaths were reported at about 11:45 a.m. Monday in the 12700 block of Andy Street, near Heritage Park, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Both the man and the woman — identified by the Los Angeles Countymedical examiner’s office as Gary Johnson, 84, and Gale Johnson, 83 — were pronounced dead at the scene.

There was no threat to the public, according to the sheriff’s department, which released no details about how the two died.
