A 69-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in Lakewood on suspicion of making sexual statements to two boys near Mayfair High School, sheriff’s officials said.

Willard Brink was released on bond Wednesday afternoon, according to jail records. School administration sent a message to parents warning them to remind their children to walk home with friends and to be alert.

Detective Shelby Martin of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Brink is suspected of annoying boys in two separate incidents: once in September 2018 and once in March 2019. The incidents were off campus and after school, she said.

“It was verbal, derogatory, sexual statements to underaged boys,” Martin said.

She said both boys reported the incidents in a timely manner, but she declined to go into any further detail.

Middle school students also attend Mayfair.
