A 17-year-old was arrested for shooting at a person during a large gang brawl Monday night in Long Beach, authorities said.

Officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of 56th Way at 7:15PM Monday, July 25 regarding a no-hit shooting call, according to Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokesman Brad Johnson.

“As officers arrived they heard a single gunshot fired and a large group of individuals fighting,” Johnson said in an email.

Police arrested a 17-year-old male with a gun and booked him on an assault with a deadly weapon charge.

Authorities determined the teen shot at but did not strike a person in the group, Johnson said.

The incident is being investigated as gang-related.
