LBPD nets weapons and drugs in West Division search warrant operation.

Long Beach Police arrested six people and confiscated guns, drugs and cash in a search warrant operation on Wednesday in the city’s West Division area.

The operation was a follow-up to investigations into gang-related violent crimes that took place earlier this summer in the area, authorities said.

The operation netted a total of five felony arrests, the seizure of seven firearms, a quantity of methamphetamine and $6,000 in cash.

The following suspects, all from Long Beach, were arrested:

  • Rogelio Ayala, 40 – possession of illegal weapon (non-firearm)
  • Edwin Lopez, 26 – destruction of ID marks on firearms
  • Raymond Moreno, 34 –  ex-felon in possession of firearm; illegal possession of ammunition
  • Jonathan De La Torre, 19 – assault with a deadly weapon; shooting at occupied dwelling
  • Brandon Castillo, 19 – outstanding warrants (narcotics and domestic battery)
  • A 17-year-old minor – possession of controlled substance while armed
