A body found inside burning motor home early Tuesday morning may have been a murder victim, according to police who say they discovered circumstances that led them to call both the arson and homicide teams.

The on-fire motor home, which was parked in an alley in the block of 500 W. 17th St. in an industrial section of town, was discovered by officers on routine patrol at around 12:15AM Tuesday. After extinguishing the flames with fire extinguishers from their patrol vehicle, Long Beach Fire Department personell responded and located a deceased adult male inside the RV.

At this time, the victim is only being identified as a 61-year-old adult male, though the Press-Telegram is reporting that witnesses knew the man as “Thomas.” No suspect information is available and the investigation is ongoing.
