A 44-year-old Long Beach man suspected of stealing bronze plaques in Huntington Beach, Orange and Tustin was behind bars today.
Sean Green was charged Monday with 10 counts of grand theft and 10 counts of vandalism, all felonies.
Orange Police said the plaques Green stole included ones from Old Towne Orange. Detectives there combed through “numerous video surveillance systems” to identify him as a suspect.
Bronze theft, they said, “is a growing concern in the Southern California area.”
Green pleaded not guilty at his arraignment and was scheduled to return to court March 4 in the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana.
Orange County Superior Court Judge Bryan Clavecilla ordered Green held on $100,000 bail.
According to the criminal complaint, Green is accused of stealing plaques in Orange on Jan. 14, Jan. 18, Nov. 9; Huntington Beach on Sept. 4 and Nov. 9; and Tustin on Jan. 20.
