A 44-year-old Long Beach man pleaded guilty and was immediately sentenced to a year in jail Monday for stealing bronze plaques in Huntington Beach, Orange and Tustin, according to court records.

Sean Green pleaded guilty to 10 counts of grand theft and 10 counts of vandalism, all felonies.

Orange Police said the plaques Green stole included ones from Old Towne Orange. Detectives there combed through “numerous video surveillance systems” to identify him as a suspect.

Bronze theft, they said, “is a growing concern in the Southern California area.”

Orange County Superior Court Judge Bryan Clavecilla gave the defendant credit for 148 days served in jail since his arrest.

According to the criminal complaint, Green is accused of stealing plaques in Orange on Jan. 14, Jan. 18, Nov. 9, Huntington Beach on Sept. 4 and Nov. 9, and Tustin on Jan. 20.
