Four men were arrested early Monday morning in connection to a home robbery in Long Beach’s Wrigley neighborhood, authorities said.

Officers were dispatched to a home on the 3200 block of Chestnut Avenue at 2:20AM on January 4, regarding a burglary. When they arrived, the officers saw a vehicle leaving the scene and began a pursuit, according to Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Nancy Pratt.

The vehicle was driven for about a mile before it stopped near 25th and Chestnut Avenue and two of four male occupants ran off—one of them armed with a firearm, she said.

The two remaining individuals were immediately taken into custody. A third suspect was taken into custody in the backyard of a residence on the 2400 block of Chestnut Avenue, according to Pratt.

The fourth suspect was found in the backyard of a home on the 2500 block of Cedar Avenue with the assistance of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department and Los Angeles Police Department’s helicopter and was then taken into custody by SWAT officers, with the help of a K-9 unit, she said.

At least two firearms were recovered during the investigation of the residential robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to contact LBPD Robbery Detective Ben Vargas at 562.570.7464.
