Police are asking for help in identifying a hit-and-run driver who crashed into two teens riding motorized dirt bikes last month in North Long Beach.
At about 6:20 p.m. on July 25, a surveillance camera near the intersection of Market Street and Elm Avenue captured footage of the car detectives believe was involved in the crash, according to Long Beach police.
In the video, a gray, four-door Ford Fusion is heading northbound on Elm Avenue. Moments later, the vehicle struck two boys — aged 16 and 17 — riding motorized dirt bikes westbound on Market Street, then fled the scene, police said.
The 16-year-old victim suffered critical injuries, but was expected to survive, police said. The 17-year-old victim suffered moderate injuries.
