sketchThe Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) is seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who they say exposed himself to several children walking to school near Jefferson Leadership Academies.

Police said in a statement that six incidents were reported from February 11, 2015 to March 4, 2015, with each incident taking place between 7:45AM and 9:00AM. The incidents occurred within the boundaries of Coronado Avenue to Euclid Avenue, and from Seventh Street to 10th Street, police said.

The suspect, described as a white male between 24 and 35 years old, was often seen sitting in the passenger side of his parked car with his pants down, exposing himself and sometimes masturbating as girls walked by. Police said the man, on many occasions, also called out toward the minors in an attempt to get them to walk closer.

In one incident, police said, the man was parked near Euclid Avenue and Seventh Street from about 8:45AM to 8:55AM. During that time, he called out to two minor victims, and as the minors walked by, the man opened his door and tried to grab one of them; however, she was able to run away.

The suspect has been described as a white man between 24 and 35 years old with brown hair. He has been seen wearing a black shirt with black Dickie pants.

Surveillance footage in the area shows the man’s car as a white passenger vehicle with tinted windows.

The LBPD said patrol officers have been actively searching for the suspect and law enforcement agencies in the region have also been alerted.

“Detectives continue to follow-up on leads and the investigation remains ongoing,” police said.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or his vehicle is urged to contact Long Beach Police Sex Crimes Detective Adriana Jaurigui at 562-570-7372.
