Police say two men were wounded in a shooting this morning in the Washington neighborhood.
The shooting was reported shortly before 7:15 a.m. near the intersection of Cedar Avenue and Anaheim Street, Long Beach police spokesperson Andrea Moran wrote in an email.
Officers responded to the scene and found two men, each with a gunshot wound to the upper body, Moran wrote. They were both taken to a hospital, but an update on their condition was not immediately available.
The shooting appeared to have happened at the northeast corner of the intersection, outside of a strip mall with a liquor store, a laundromat and a market. One of the liquor store windows was shattered.
Detectives were investigating the circumstances of the shooting.
