A 28-year-old man was fatally shot early today in Long Beach, and the suspect remained at large.

Officers responded around 12:10 a.m. to the 800 block of Atlantic Avenue to a report of shots being fired, and they discovered a man with gunshot wounds to his upper body, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Long Beach Fire Department paramedics were called and pronounced the man dead at the scene. He was identified as Tyrone Parks, 28, of Long Beach.

There was no immediate description of a suspect or possible motive for the shooting.
