Officers investigated a report concerning a threat made via social media over the weekend, according to Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokesperson Nancy Pratt.
At approximately 11:42AM on Sunday, LBPD officers began investigating the alleged threat, responding to a residence on the 3100 block of Bellflower Blvd., between Spring Street and Wardlow Road.
According to Pratt, officers received information that a female suspect had made a threat against an acquaintance. Contact was made with a female resident—who was believed to be the suspect—at the home on Bellflower, but no arrest was made at that time.
Multiple civilian witnesses told the Post that an estimated 10 to 15 LBPD vehicles were seen parked in front of the residence for several hours Sunday afternoon.
No additional information is available at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing. We will update this story as we learn more.
