Authorities are investigating a non-injury shooting that happened near Long Beach Polytechnic High School Tuesday afternoon, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

Officers were dispatched to Olive Avenue and 19th Street on Tuesday, February 16 at about 2:34PM regarding an unknown trouble call with a subject possibly chasing someone, LBPD spokeswoman Marlene Arrona said.

Police then learned that a no-hit shooting reportedly happened near Pasadena Avenue and Dayman Street—less than a mile from the initial calling location, Arrona added.

The investigation remains ongoing. Authorities did not say if the incident was gang-related.

The reported incident happened less than a mile away from a shooting last month that resulted in damage to an unoccupied vehicle.
