Long Beach police investigating woman’s death as possible homicide

Police are investigating the suspicious death of a 66-year-old woman Wednesday night in West Long Beach.

The woman was found at about 10:40 p.m. in the 1800 block of W. 25th Street. Long Beach Fire Department personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.

The cause and manner of her death was not released, however, “the preliminary investigation revealed suspicious circumstances surrounding the death,” police said in a statement.

The woman’s name will be released when next of kin are notified.
