attemptedarmedrobberyLong Beach police are seeking information surrounding an attempted armed robbery suspect who eventually fled from officers Thursday night and left behind two firearms, authorities said.

Officers responded to the attempted armed robbery call at a restaurant on the 1300 block of West Willow Street at 9:40PM, according to Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Nancy Pratt.

An officer then saw the male suspect—who matched the description given—near 25th Street and Santa Fe Avenue and engaged in a foot pursuit, Pratt said.

The officer eventually lost sight of the suspect and established a perimeter to search several yards, but the suspect was not found.

Authorities were able to recover two firearms allegedly dropped by the suspect.

Anyone with information should contact the LBPD’s Robbery Detail at 562.570.7464.
